 | Uverse stole $300 rewards from me When I ordered Uverse I checked everything online, then called to see the pricing and to talk to someone (I'd rather talk to someone where they can't sneak some fine print in at the bottom of a website).
When we talked the pricing promotions were the same and she said I qualified for the $300 rewards card, same as online so I put the order through. Fast forward a month and I never got anything about the rewards. Finally I check online and the rewards site says my account isn't found, I have to call.
Rewards center says they don't see the card on my account, I would have to talk to customer service to add the card, the rewards center can't add the card.
Transfer to customer service and they say they have to check. Hold. Come back and say that I'm not eligible, that you are only eligible for the rewards or the promotional price. I say that's not true, I can go online right now and get both and they told me I was eligible for both when I placed my order. They say the rewards center told me I wasn't eligible and that's why they transferred me (huh?) and the rewards center can't add it and that's why they transferred me to customer service.
Talk to supervisor and he gives me the same runaround, the promotions don't stack (and he stuck to those guns in the face on the evidence that they do when you order online), etc. He dodged the questions "So somebody on your end messed up something when I ordered and I am screwed? I'm the one who has to bear the brunt of your mistake?" As well as "How can you expect to keep me as a customer when I am being lied to?" His manager is supposed to call me back.
To say I'm pissed is an understatement. I was happy with Uverse otherwise, but now I will look into possibly Dish for TV (Hopper looks interesting), go back to Insight/TWC for internet and go with a VOIP provider like Ooma. |

| Have you gone to an AT&T store and talk to a live person? If I had that much problems I would have them check. It's easier to have the store do the order than online(a real headache). You could have had person in the store check if any rewards were ordered. I have less problems there than over the phone. Only time I got any reward cards was when went from POTS line in 2008 to DSL and Hardline phone line. Online orders for AT&T services is headache and I don't do any ordering online. |

| reply to burns113 I would try to call or talk to someone else, keep trying until you get your rewards. My rewards & account came up 2 days after my install(Feb. 2nd) on the rewards site. I had $175 in rewards, a $100, a $50, & a $25 reward which I had to "claim" through the website. I got them the middle March even tho it showed a ship date of March 31st. I ordered online as well, but did not get the full $300 because I didn't order phone service & opted for the long-term-savings(a 6 month discount of services) instead. If I were you I would maybe try to make a complaint via the BBB, if your original order shows the rewards & you can't get anywhere with a tier2/manager. -- Join The Fight against Media Censorship www.blackthisout.com |

 | I ordered over the phone, not online.
I never received any documentation of the order details, all I have is what they told me over the phone.
I'm going to wait to see if the manager actually calls. |

 | Almost as bad sometimes. If you go to an AT&T store, they might be able to look things up. I wouldn't wait to check things first. |

| reply to burns113 It took me 6 months and multiple phone calls to get the discounts that AT&T provided me in writing when I subscribed to U-Verse last year (and I'm still not certain that I am receiving them until I see the next bill!). And I never received any of the $175 on rewards that were promised. My order was placed in a store and I have the store manager's initials on it. Welcome to the club! -- GDATL - Atlanta GA |

| reply to burns113 I've never gotten anywhere with AT&T's wireline people over the phone or online, I've always had to go in and speak to someone. AT&T wireless, on the other hand, I've only ever had to go in and talk to someone to get a new phone (upgrade) and then only because I wanted to see the actual devices in person so I knew what I was getting. I've been a customer since '01 and it's been like this the whole time. |

| reply to burns113 I did not get my $100 for my modem after 2-1/2 months. I called ATT and they gave me their rewards number to call. I called the rewards number and I said I never got my gift card.
They ask me how much was it supposed to be for, like they had no idea what I was supposed to get. I said $100 and she immediately said they would send it right out to me. I wonder if I could have said more? I did get it in the mail about a week later. -- ...brought to you by Carl's Jr. |

 | reply to burns113 Just a small update, I submitted a complaint with the BBB and now AT&T is investigating. I should know by the end of the week, I'll let you know the results. |

 | reply to burns113 AT&T said they couldn't give me the rewards card, but they gave me credit on my account which is good enough for me. |

I had the EXACT same problem. The salesman said I talked to said I get $135 a month plus $300 in gift cards. When I called to get my gift cards, they said that I could only get one or the other, and it was the $135 a month. I told them that's not what the salesman said, and they didn't believe me. I told the supervisor to review the recorded tapes, and 2 days later the supervisor calls me and tells me the cards are ready to be claimed online. After they reviewed the tapes, they found out their salesman f'd up. Service is great though! -- No Victim=No Crime |

If I don't hear something back in the next couple of weeks, I will be posting to direct. I was installed at the end of February and was going to get at $50 and a $200 reward. I received the $50, but nothing about the $200.
Thanks for reaching out on these. You guys do so much! /alan |
