I have >100 apps...~80 of them I haven't used since I installed them 2 years ago. One app was (not sure?) 2GB...so I deleted it. |

Paul928 join:2000-05-06 Haverhill, MA | reply to SuperNet9 I posted on another thread here, that before you buy the 16GB new iPad, that you have to remember that the new enhanced apps for the retenia screen are much bigger.....so take that into consideration before going for the 16GB model.....the 16GB may just be fine, but if you are going to load enhanced games especially, you may be better off with at least a 32GB. |

The main reason, in my opinion, to get greater than 16 GB is if you are going to want to load videos onto the iPad. It is the main reason I have a 32 GB - for loading videos when traveling. |

 | Quick question to the user who posted that they carry video for travel. I got the 16gb new ipad and was wondering if it only accepts .mov movies, if so what is good software that converts my existing avi's and other videos to the format accepted by ipad, and also in good quality. tia |

MUT308Premium join:2001-02-07 Oakland, CA | reply to huntnplay P.S. huntnplay, if you don't have a Mac, and you are using Windows, you want to look for any kind of free software that can convert to H264 (which I believe uses the .mp4 extension, not to be confused with MPEG4, which also uses the .mp4 extension.)

I really think that Apple should have ( ) gone with 32, 64, and 128GB devices this go around. At least we can delete/download purchased apps right from the device if we need to make room, but 16GB is really cutting it close with something that has such a stratospheric screen resolution. |

I really think that Apple should have ( ) gone with 32, 64, and 128GB devices this go around. ... It's all about price points... Right now, they're barely under $500 ($499 is pretty close) There's something psychologically attractive about advertising a product in the $400 range. Folks can easily not buy the 16 GB if they don't want it, but the low price gets 'em in the the door...and then the customer can up sell themselves to the larger models. Remove the low priced option and you'll leave a bigger gap in the market for the cheaper alternatives to capture. Smart move to keep an 'inexpensive' product...IMHO
and they're selling a ton of them, so what ever they're doing...they should continue
I believe... it's easier to get someone to consider a $499 product and have them decide on the $599...then it is to advertise a $599 product. That's how cars...and pizza gets sold...you decide to buy the product then you decide what to add on (moon roof or mushrooms, respectively). |

Heck, I have 32GB SD card for my camera... (two actually). |

Apple had a net profit of $6,620,000,000 for the fourth quarter of 2011. If success as a business means profit, and if "a lot" means at least 5% more successful, then your advice is worth over $300 million dollars.
