To be honest, I use a DLNA server on a win7 PC with nearly 10 terabytes to stream. I was surprised when I saw that the TPrime has a few DLNA servers and plenty of clients.
It's been a bit since I played with VLC on the android. I use mostly Moboplayer and BSPlayer lite as media players.
When I was playing with VLC on the 'droid, I was going mostly by these vlcblog.
