Re: [Poll]Initial reaction to new iPad said by haroldo:said by Thinkdiff:http://www.apple.com/ipad/features Looking at the Retina display (iBook) image on that page...is it me or do the two pages look the same (similar)? "Yea.. I can see the difference, but it is extremely minute. Pretty bad way to advertise it."
I thought the same thing until I clicked on the picture icon below it, that added the magnifying glass, and when you go back it's more compelling of a difference. Still hard to absorb through just a picture, but much better than I originally thought it was.
I had been considering an iPad because I use my super old MB all the time and carry it with me everywhere I go and want a new one, but decided to go on vacation next week instead. I read something about a display adapter, so if this thing can hook up to an external monitor I might actually do it. I need to look into it more (specifically: can I use a BT mouse/KB?)
edit: They're all right here: »www.apple.com/ipad/accessories/ I'm a little concerned at VGA and no DVI, though... -- Blame it on the C2H5OH |

The external monitor output is for mirroring or specialty apps that make use of it (Keynote, Games, etc). You still interact with the iPad via the touchscreen. You can add a bluetooth keyboard to do typing, but there is no concept of a "mouse" on an iPad - it's touch input only. -- University of Southern California - Fight On! |

I think it would be great on the go, but I'd find myself frustrated with it at home. I probably do need a laptop instead. -- Blame it on the C2H5OH |
