As for the "4G" model, download one movie, and you are over your cap. I can see people getting $500+ bills in their first month of having one...
But I know now people will line up around the block for it because it's new and got a apple sticker on it...
The screen is quite the improvement. 4G remains unlimited for those of us who are grandfathered. The leap is more significant for those of us who stayed with the first model, but those who wish to upgrade from the 2 won't be out much money as there's still pretty decent value for reselling.
Last, I am old, nd recall per-Internet days when one waited on line for 12 hours or more to buy concert tickets. I'd be on line Friday, myself except for a conflict at work. Either one understands the energy of a like minded crowd or not, there's little room in the middle.
(FWIW - When I got the first one, a cousin of mine shared your sentiment about the lines, only she wasn't so polite. When I cited the idea of the group gathering for anything, tickets, football, convention, she didn't get it. I want the 3, and will wait till the stores take the reservation call, that's how I got mine 2 first gen iPads) |

You may be right. Well, the latest update shows some real travel weirdness IMO.
Last update shows it having left Louisville, KY March 15 @ 2:51PM.
Why would it get sent from Anchorage to Kentucky and now back up to Canada?
Dang that iPad is gonna have more travels miles on it this year before I get my hands on it than I will at this rate

It's only hours away and couldn't get here a moment too soon... Had to work until 9 PM scanning and emailing documents and estimates after a long day working in the field. Really hoping this new Ipad helps me to improve my productivity...

Federal law states the space inside a mailbox is not your property. so for example, if I am delivering ads of any kind, I am not allowed to put them in mailboxes.
On the other hand, My FedEx guy would never leave an unprotected box out when rain is threatening. No matter the size, he can't use the mailbox. |

I have mine. It arrived at the hospital at 9:45 and was in my office 1/2 hour ago. I've already done the basic comparo pix with my iPad2 and am charging up the new guy now for setup.
It is a little heavier but I honestly don't notice that it is thinner.
Woot! Will play more but have to see patients and dig through paperwork.

Forgot to mention. The Retina display is INCREDIBLE in this size. The hype is accurate in that regard, and I'm not that easy to impress on this sort of thing.
