Re: [DSL] Frontier Halfed my Speed, Help me get it back. just call and threaten to cancel. I'm sure they will magically fix it then or they might just let you cancel. Check to see if any cable company serves your area. |

 | reply to xjustelevenx still nothing new, no calls, no emails... My mother called customer service, and a idiot in new york said it was probably our modem.. he said workers "can't do that" (referring to re-syncing on the RT) - apparently he isn't familiar with rural areas and RTs?
Either way, now we have to wait until the new modem arrives friday to complain to them more... The tech guy we called monday evening clearly saw the 1.7Mb/s speed when he pulled up our info... Why couldn't the customer service guy do that?
PS. Still paying for 3M/bs....
REGARDLESS, I believe some people deserve to get fired in my region, either that or they need more people.... |

|
 | Still nothing new. The new modem hasn't even came yet... How did this company... get the right to have a monopoly in most rural places in this country... |

At a minimum they provide feedback about the issue and what is going on in thier neighborhood. But they, including Dan Page our area manager and our district manager, appear to have taken a hands off posture for us here in WV. |
|
 | reply to Hank I did notice that as well Hank. |

 | Frontier just called trying to sell me crap lol. |

HankSearching for a new FrontierPremium join:2002-05-21 Burlington, WV kudos:1 | It amazing, several comments from Frontier employees again last night on what is going on in other areas even discussion about peering. But West Virginia continues to be ignored. It gives one the impression that maybe there are two Frontier Communications the rest of the country and West Virginia. Guess they know that they have a monopoly therefore they can afford to ignore issues in WV. |

 | reply to xjustelevenx So after a week of when we were suppose to get the new modem... we called and they informed us... They haven't even shipped it yet...
.....
Why is this the only internet company in my area...
Furthermore, my mother (age 51, so I'm not sure about this) said last she called (when she was informed of a new modem) she was talking to the women I emailed, Stephanie Castle - »www.linkedin.com/pub/stephanie-c···/373/58b (her profile at linkedin)
She told my mother something along the lines of... we're three miles away from the RT, so we're lucky we can even get any internet..
That just blows my mind.... Complete bullshit.
So when we get the modem, what should I do? Call again and request a repair or something? So then I can plainly show the tech our margin dB's? |

1 edit | Pfft.... you can be feet from a DSLAM and not be able to get DSL without adding length to the line. I've heard of people getting 768k service 30,000+ Feet out and being able to hold it for a few days before it dropped.
Keep trying unfortunately |

 | reply to xjustelevenx After 25 days, IT'S BACK TO NORMAL! Apparently, all it took was my mother to leave a "dis-satisfied" notion at the end of the call. A women from customer service called and informed us she told the technician to turn the speed back up, and wondered why no one else did. ~ Ps. I don't think I'm going to report an outage again :-\ |
