Re: Took the plunge - Distributel cable install date set Well cable modem showed up today about a week before my scheduled install date (scheduled for the 7th).
I also received a phone call from Distributel yesterday to confirm my install date as well as to let me know my modem was shipped and I should be receiving it today.
On the phone he also verified the phone number that was provided to Rogers and to let me know it was very important that I make sure I answer when the Rogers tech calls or they won't bother coming over for the install.
So far impressed with how smoothly things are going.
Crossing fingers that the install goes smoothly on Wednesday and that my primetime speeds stay reasonable.
Not looking forward to having to pay about $140 to Rogers to cancel my service 7 months early though :-(
Since Distributel is about 50 a month cheaper though it's less than a 3 month payback.
