Re: EVDO Metro has EVDO, but only in a few places. Most are CDMA 1x.
EVDO= EVolution Data Only
There was going to be EVDV, EVolution Data Voice, but it was never implemented. It would have done what SVDO did, as well as somehow improved voice services.
Verizon is going 100% LTE by year end 2013, so who cares about handing off? The phones can just ignore CDMA. Metro will have to worry about it. I don't see it being that big of a deal though, as even though LTE is a GSM technology by politics, if you will, it has no technical relation to GSM or UMTS. |
