onebadmofoRepost These Nuts In Your Mouth.Premium join:2002-03-30 Reading, PA kudos:1 | Mac Mini question I'm looking to slide in a couple Macs in our business to see if we can eventually in the long run, merge into the Mac world and be done with windows. Well not totally since some of our apps only work with windows, so we'd have to run Parallels or something. Which I don't think will be a problem for end users to get used to.
I've been thinking of going cheap and getting a couple of Mac Minis to see what our configuration would have to be and see what hiccups we would encounter and what not. Basic research and development stuff.
My question is.... as far as peripherals, what comes with the Mac Mini? Mouse, keyboard? Will a normal monitor work with it? -- Photoshop these nuts in your mouth.

You can plug standard USB things into it, but a Mac keyboard will make you more happy than a PC usb keyboard. Normal digital monitors work fine. -- My place : »www.schettino.us |

| reply to JohnInSJ I just got a new one. No DVD that I could discern. I'm a little worried that I missed a USB stick, though.
I'm using mine with a new keyboard and trackpad from Apple.

And a wonderful 20" ACD I bought from some guy here at ATM.
It's a 2.5GHz i5, and it's really fast. |

Para what? Unfortunately Virtualbox doesn't support Aero and contrary to popular belief, Aero is more than just eye candy. |

| You can do that with parallels. Not so much with virtualbox. You can make a shared drive to move files between the host and the VM. | 4.1.8 has been pretty good.
There is some goofy issue with retaining correct aspect ratio when on multiple desktops and the VM is full screen but it's been fine for me. -- "If something about the human body disgusts you, complain to the manufacturer" - Lenny Bruce What this country needs is a good five dollar plasma weapon. |

 | reply to onebadmofo Get the full keyboard (with the numeric pad). You won't regret it, especially in a business environment. |
