<description><![CDATA[StreetSpirit posted : To be honest, I use a DLNA server on a win7 PC with nearly 10 terabytes to stream. I was surprised when I saw that the TPrime has a few DLNA servers and plenty of clients. <br><br>It's been a bit since I played with VLC on the android. A friend running XP (no idea which service pack) couldn't get the new "web" type installer to start. <br><br>I tried to help her from Teamviewer and couldn't get the thing installed for the life of me. <br>I suppose I could've used the .zip file but this was easier :D . <br><br>Here, under Windows 7 , it installed flawlessly on three machines.<br><br>[added later]<br><br>MP3 playback has a noticeable popping sound. The performance is definitely smoother, even pausing is nice and sharp without the audio stuttering.<br><br>The only issue is that I lost drag and drop functionality, but I can live without it.<br><br>And finally some dynamic range compression. This is a big plus for people without Windows 7 (which already includes "loudness equalization").]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[ltsnow posted : I installed 2.0.0 and found that it had significantly higher CPU usage than 1.1.11.  Looked around a bit and found someone else who had this problem and it was related to the sound.  Someone at VLC recommended deleting these plugins:  libsamplerate_plugin.dll and libspeex_resampler_plugin.dll.  After I did that CPU usage is nice and low with 2.0.0.<br><br>Of course, I use Potplayer now, but I still keep a portable version of VLC to play RAM files, and just because it's a nice player to have around.]]></description>

My internal updater didn't show anything either. However, the full installer removes the old version anyway. (I often use the zipped versions with many programs, but used the full installer with this one). Not sure why, guess it's just always been that way with this particular program.  <br>Oh, and as I'm sure some of you have seen, there are many options as far as 'extra features' when installing...so watch carefully. <br><br>Love VLC. Most significant is that the Mac version finally uses multi-threaded decoding of h264 files and a sleeker interface.
