Good luck to you, but it isn't hard to stream files to or from your TPrime or other android device.

I gave it a try some time ago. Tried the BPM detect, but because that screwed up several mp3 files in my collection, it was irreversibly kicked out.

I use Gom player about half the time as well. VLC 1.1.11 works just fine.

good I'm not the only one.. music play cuts out every 4-5 seconds then comes back.. Thought at first something with my network was boogered since all my media is on NAS but even if the files were local the stuttering continues.. went back to 1.11 for now, just don't feel like messing with settings right now, severe case of lazyitis.. Pretty sure my PC is powerful enough..

And finally some dynamic range compression. This is a big plus for people without Windows 7 (which already includes "loudness equalization").

Someone at VLC recommended deleting these plugins: libsamplerate_plugin.dll and libspeex_resampler_plugin.dll. After I did that CPU usage is nice and low with 2.0.0.

Of course, I use Potplayer now, but I still keep a portable version of VLC to play RAM files, and just because it's a nice player to have around.

My preferred app is GOM Player, but I thought I'd give this new version of VLC a go. I like GOM's interface better.

Yes, I believe you're correct. My internal updater didn't show anything either. However, the full installer removes the old version anyway. (I often use the zipped versions with many programs, but used the full installer with this one). Not sure why, guess it's just always been that way with this particular program.
Oh, and as I'm sure some of you have seen, there are many options as far as 'extra features' when installing...so watch carefully.

Strange, but on my Macs, when I open VLC, it prompted me to download the update, which I did on two Macs. Works fine, although the installation was a little off.

On my PC, when I went to check for updates, it said none available. That was a few hours ago though.
