I am currently with Bell and my cancellation date is March 8th. I just called TekSavvy to re-subscribe after leaving my MLPPP service for Bell's 25/7 a few years ago and i was extremely annoyed that i have to pay this 8$ when i have the exact same modem that is Bell branded and currently in use on the network.<br><br>My only "consolation" is that my bill will drop by $75 even with that extra 8$]]></description>

When prices go down, they should pro-rate the decrease for the same period also.<br> </p></div>&nbsp;<br>Ah yesssss, that brings back some not so distant memories, from about 3 years back.<br><br>I do not recall the exact rates, but I left BELL Internet over their accounting dept prorating 'out' an old rate for the first part of an established billing period, and then, on the same bill, using a different (too long) period for prorating 'in' the new higher rate.<br><br>I think that this happened when I had notified them that I wanted to go off contract and pay the higher open rate (approaching the proper end of a contract), and when you tell them THAT, a flag likely is raised on you account at their end, to tell them to rip you off any way they can, as you are likely to be leaving anyway.<br><br>I argued up and down that the 2 prorate periods should add up to the number of days in that billing period (and not more), and they just didn't get it (and some of these folks were allegedly accounting reps), so I told them to shut down my account and stopped paying them.<br><br>It was only a difference of 2 or 3 dollars which became the 'last straw' that day and cost Bell my account, though Bell had made errors for about 6 consecutive previous months on that account, ever since I took away my land line and had them install me a dry loop the previous summer (moving that Internet account over to the DL), which prob'ly bothered them too, as THAT was when they started billing me a monthly fee for the dry loop after some of them saying that they would not, AND for a modem which they never sent and for which I never asked (or both, some months).<br><br>And oh yes, those were Bell BUSINESS services, so I was originally paying extra for them as it was, at the time.<br><br>So, that day I finally gave up on them and told them so.<br><br>Hopefully the problems which you folks are currently facing are somewhat simpler to solve. :)]]></description>

Instead they are only forcing modem rental because there are only 2 modems that are compatible and it's easier for them to troubleshoot problems when they own all end user hardware and can do swaps on request. Not everyone is enamoured with this 'feature'. I have already mentioned this same fact to another IISP operator, in hopes they may take that into account in their new user plans. Early March will tell!<br><br>I sincerely hope things improve, so we can all enjoy these forums more, and get back to helping each other learn, and solve problems. If it was made a permanent reimbursement then users on other plans who had their prices increased on Feb 2 could argue that the reason they signed up was because of the old lower price and demand a reimbursement either. I was caught up in it as well.<br><br> I think the best solution is to raise the traffic limit on the 25/7 line to 400GB as compensation for the screwup and a means to soothe customer concerns. This should be a minimal cost as most heavy users should be diverting to 2 am to 8 am for their major bandwidth use.<br><br>I don't expect Teksavvy to lose money and I value the good service I have had for the past 6 years. Teksavvy set the bar quite high in it's past performance and it is sad to read about this mess. I blame the big guys with the CRTC in their pockets as the real problem.]]></description>
