Expected Changes to Insight Customers with TWC takeover

From a recent article here are some of the changes that might be seen by Insight customers with the takeover by Time Warner.

–Insight customers get these channels not carried by Time Warner:
The NFL Network, Fox Sports South (with SEC games), Cincinnati low-power WKRP, and the CN2 Commonwealth Network with Kentucky politics, sports and weather.

–Time Warner provides these services not offered by Insight: The MLB Network, HBO Go, the NBA League Pass and an alternate channel for Fox Sports Ohio to carry UC or Xavier games airing simultaneously.

- History indicates that Insight subscribers could lose the NFL Network. The former Adelphia cable customers here lost the NFL Network after Time Warner bought Amelia, Liberty Township and Green Township systems in 2006.

There is no "changes that might be seen" to it. Those channels and some of or all of the HD Pack are gone at some point. A CS rep and an installer both told me this last time I had to call in a work order (couple months ago). From what I can read TWC isn't even negotiating for these channels.

As far as the channels not offered by insight they are all(except fox) services that require extra money to see. In my opinion the current Insight customers are going to come out on the short end of this deal.

Already looking into Uverse and Directv here. Hate to leave Insight but they are not going to be able to provide the same channels/services we already have.

I would bet TWC does away with the HD pack. There is the MLB Network that they can add to the sports tier and I'm not so sure we will loose the NFL Network for long as they were trying to work out a deal but decided to wait until next season.

i hope you are right on the NFL Network. I'm not holding my breath though since none of their other markets have it either and haven't had it for awhile and the CEO was quoted as saying he didn't care if they got it or not.

Seriously, quit the rumors. Just because x or y lost such and such does not mean we will. Hell they haven't even publicly announced anything in nearly 6 months. So this is all rumor mill sausage measuring on who will have it right when it happens.

Does anyone have any idea how long it will take for Insight customers to receive the TWC channel lineup? I've been using MLB.tv to get my Phillies games, but if I have access to TWC's MLB EI plan, I'd rather do that as sometimes the MLB.tv feed could be choppy at max internet usage times.

Both sides are being very quiet despite having gotten the ok all around to merge, Probably won't hear anything till this summer as there estimating to close the merger before July 1.

Saw today that they have reached an agreement with the MSG network. Of course the Governor had to complain. Maybe we can get the President to complain and get the NFL Network signed on before the merger !
