Re: E Machine T3642 accessing erecover partition. said by Snakeoil:Is there a way that I could copy the erover partition from on PC to the other? Certainly. I've done this a number of times with various OEM systems.
I tend to use TrueImage these days but some free apps include: »clonezilla.org/ »www.runtime.org/shadow-copy.htm »www.runtime.org/driveimage-xml.htm »www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
There are also a ton of options in UBCD... »www.ultimatebootcd.com/
The general idea is to clone the drive of the "good" machine and then put it in the other machine and boot. Since they are the same, you could clone the entire drive (recovery and system drives) and you'd be able to boot into Windows. If the machines exist on the same network, it would be a good idea to rename the machine.
For safety, I suggest using a third drive, removing the existing drive in the "bad" machine and storing it until you are happy that everything works as intended. -- My Site |
