Backwards compatability is not a bad thing in the odd event one might need to roll back.

There are some funky sites that I still visit the require the software, thus, I still use it - updated and current, of course.

Fine grain the controls as my friend has reminded, and you're good to go.

For that matter, I very rarely even have a need for Shockwave at all. But hey, I have to have it anyway. Well, just cuz. ;)

Naturally, the settings are completely up to personal preference.
