Hickory, NC | 2Wire HomePortal 1700HW faster than newer 2701HG? Hi there..
I've been using a 1700HW model for years now, never had any issues I believe with it. Recently I upgraded our internet to 6mbps and decided maybe a newer model would work friendlier with the higher speeds. (Used to be 768kbps/128kbps before)
Everything seems alright but one of the biggest disappointments with the newer model is how slow the internal menu is.
I've searched around on google and have found that this is commonly known now.
My question is why? Most posts i've found had an old post date, was just wondering if by this point in time we knew why the menu is slower or how much newer is this 2701HG model compared to the 1700HW.
I use the internal menu to look up Line Stats/Internet Usage Graph... which all take 2-5 seconds to refresh/load than immediate refresh on the 1700 model.

The 1700 can handle the speeds you have just as well as the 2701HGsaid by ja5219: how much newer is this 2701HG model compared to the 1700HW The 2701HG started shipping in 2007 |
