Re: $26 an hour said by ITALIAN926:Your questions are TOO HARD Polo. Lets ask some questions an engineer type should be able to answer. What are we testing on the coax? How about the fiber? How do we connect ethernet to a router, and when do we do it? These are SIMPLE questions pertaining to our job. Be specific. You should know exactly what we test, and how problems can be rectified. Remember, you dont need training !
Still laughing over "portable ladder". lol
Let me close my "electronic laptop" now.
PS, if you and I switched FiOS knowledge right now, Id be fired before the workday was finished tomorrow. THATS A FACT EINSTEIN. If you laugh at a portable ladder then you never worked in the industry. You laugh at distinct legal terms like "portable" ladder that have completely different rules than "fixed ladders", scaffolding, or vehicle mounted elevating work platforms. It is messed up you dont know this and you work in installation. What kind of safety programs does verizon run??? This is sad. Dont tell an OSHA inspector you dont know what a portable ladder is.
You need to be very familiar with: 1910 Subpart D 1910 Subpart F 1910.67 How about fall protection?? If you dont know what those are then something is really, really wrong as you have an OSHA violation right now.
The technical aspects of an installer are very inutitive and not complex. Most people know the technicals, but many people neglect the safety. From your posts Verizon has a long way to go for safety training. -- ...brought to you by Carl's Jr. |

| No, YOU would have to be familar with Verizons safety practices. WHERE YOU LEARN IN TRAINING, and the rules are very strict.
Portable ladders? ALL OUR LADDERS ARE PORTABLE, you STILL dont get it.
I like how you ignored the rest of my last post, and chose to concentrate on "portable ladders" instead, as if we work with scafolding and "fixed ladders". This has gone way past ridiculous. You can do my job without training the same as I can walk into a Fire Department and start working THERE. Nothing else to really say, obviously humble pie will never be on your menu. |

| I could not walk into a fire department and know what to do, but I could install fios safely and correctly with no training. You seem to think Verizon invented fiber and how to install wires.
As I said before a phone tech is just as hard has an installer, it just is not physical. -- ...brought to you by Carl's Jr. |

| Hey moron, you couldnt even read our work orders without training. One post ago, you thought we spliced drops at terminals. You have no idea how to work our equipment, or what the safety methods and procedures are. You thought you can test coax before having a signal through it. Theres 50 times more that you DONT KNOW. You have no idea on the architecture of our entire network !
Now give it a rest. The more you reply, the more asinine you make yourself. The gall to think you know our job as well as we do. lmao. You are a FOOL. |

| If you think you cant test coax without an ont then you have no idea what you are doing. As I said it is not my fault verizon does not buy you simple testing equipment. I can test ethernet too by hooking up my router and laptop, but its faster to check with testing equipment. In your field you should know this exists.
All I am saying is an install tech is a pretty straightforward simple job. It is not complex, so get off your high horse and stop acting like it is so damn specialized and difficult. It is asinine to pretend your job is complex when it is not. I have been paid alot to do simple jobs over the years. I am not arrogant to act like they were so damn hard and needed very complex training. -- ...brought to you by Carl's Jr. |
