What I'm not aware of is why the guy got pulled over.
If he was stopped because of his race that's a disgrace.
Other than that scenario when I see a motorist demand 20,000 UK pounds to get out of his car claiming he doesn't 'work' for free is an asshole.
In ~3 minutes all I saw was the motorist choosing to escalate the situation. |

I brought it up as a possible justification (if that was the case) for the guys behavior believing that if I were stopped because of the color of my skin I'd probably act like a jerk towards the traffic cop too. |

It was probably because the car isn't taxed. I'd assume that an automatic number plate reader in the police car flagged it as being on the road illegally.
He admits that he doesn't have insurance or an MOT certificate and both are required when buying a tax disc.

I'm sorry but (and only half way through the second video), I have to agree with Pjr. In the UK, a vehicle must have a currently valid MOT, insurance, and a (currently valid) road tax disc if on a public roadway -- and this is independent of whether the vehicle is being 'operated' at the time. Furthermore, if a vehicle is being 'operated' on a public roadway (possibly with certain exceptions for farm vehicles -- not sure about that in the UK), then the 'operator' must be able to establish (and a driver's license does that well) that they have all the qualifications to operate such a vehicle. [Right about now, I'd be happy to see Paul Denton pop in and clarify what i've said above.]
Duly authorized law enforcement personnel do have the authority (and many would also say they have the responsibility to ask for proof that the above requirements have been satisfied. Apparently, this individual is missing one or more of these. (Cleverly edited out of the video, so it's hard to tell.] If there's any indication of racism, I certainly haven't seen it yet. Furthermore, it appears that the vehicle also has one other violation -- a large notice of some sort in the upper right hand of the windshield (windscreen for the Brits). It is also unclear to me (at this point) as to whether the vehicle has valid license plates (tags to us US peasants) affixed and visible. The plates are essentially 'permanent' in the UK and the authorities have a fairly large number of patrol vehicles that automatically read license plates and confirm that they are legitimate, valid and that all other requirements for operation on a public roadway have been satisified. Indeed, we have a similar system operating here in Northern Virginia; just two days ago, I saw a marked police car with three camera affixed to monitor license plates of following vehicles and the two adjacent lanes of traffic.
Since I do own, maintain, and operate a motor vehicle in the UK (as a US citizen) on a fairly regular basis, I made a point of finding all this out before I bought a vehicle and ensuring that all the requirements are fulfillled.
This has nothing to do with a 'right to travel' or the race/ethnic background of the person sitting behind the vehicle's controls.

Re: You mean his right to claim that (a) an "automobile" is not a "motor vehicle" despite the fact that it can be used for travelling and has an engine, and (b) he is on his "property", despite the fact that his motor vehicle is stopped on land that does not belong to him.
Note that at the end of the first clip, he claims the policeman was "belligerent", so add that to the list of words he doesn't understand.
The guy apparently has half-baked ideas about his "rights", which are not in fact rights - for example the right to move two- thousand pounds of metal at high speed without certification of being able to do so, and therefore at risk to others. |

Reston, VA | I believe, after looking up his youtube page, he is trying to exercise the 'rights' of a freeman, which apparently has become a rejuvenated movement in the UK. In actuality, this is something of a travesty of the position taken by Freeborn John and the Levellers back before the US existed. (And Freeborn John is generally well regarded by the US Judiciary, being a regularly quoted source for Justice Hugo Black's findings.)
And back to your earlier post, he was not only breaking the law and knew it, he actually intended to do so. If you (like, yes, me) take the time to watch the entire hour long provocation (and waste of police time), you'll see he's driving around with all these 'documents' prepared ahead of time and lying in the passenger seat, just in case he gets stopped.
