Besides the power difference, which can be dealt with (it's my understanding the power supply is dual-voltage-rated and just needs the wall-side cord replaced), are the games region-coded like movie DVDs ? What about PAL vs NTSC output ? I suspect that might be something that can be specified in the settings.
Basically, will it work ? |

Da Man join:2008-05-08 Hanover, PA | PS3 games are region free. NTSC/PAL might be an issue if you plan on using an SDTV. DVD/BD regions still apply but most BDs are region free at least. |

 | reply to Hall I don't think there will be an issue regarding PAL vs NTSC. I am in the U.S. and played both DVD formats with no trouble. And I concur with Da Man in regards to the PS3 region locking of movie disks. |

Going to look at Amazon UK for pricing to see if it makes $$$ sense to do this. I suspect that's WHY he is considering it. |

It basically flat out refuses to spin up the disc otherwise. And of course there is region coding on blurays and games. What else did you think that "1/2/3" was for on the box? -- Because, f*ck Sony |
