That's a given, Steve was a genius.. And you point was? And if you believe that who is going to be the next "evangelizer"? What happens if the next "evangelizer" doesn't hold a candle to Jobs?

I think Apple should buy Microsoft.

Better off buying samsung.

No, no. They should purchase nVidia. If they own one of the best GPU manufactures they could have unrivaled hardware in their computers and mobile products.

I don't like reminding myself that I once talked with my wife about buying 10K shares of Apple stock at $10/share, I think it was when Scully was still running the place, or maybe right after Jobs took over.

I started buying into Apple in 2001 at $9.27, this was after Jobs returned. With one split between then and now, I currently have about $350K in the company. With a few shares over the last few years, I have diversified my portfolio and purchased both adjacent properties as investment income.

My cost average on my 2003 shares is a little over $11+/sh

$350K? DAMN Coma! I plan on selling half my 2003 shares and doing some more renovations to the house, and stashing some away for taxes, lol.

You go Coma!

Hindsight being 20/20 is a bitch isn't it?

I remember the late 90's/early 2000's when the rotten Apple was headed to the compost pile...sort of like Blackberry is today....all it takes is one idea to change a company from a dud to a powerhouse...Apple did it, but the other fruit probably can't (as much as I'd like them too).

You are right about the hindsight and Blackberry but the "I remember" part having to do with the way Apple was headed is sadly mistaken along with the direction you think Apple is headed now. The only stock headed in the direction of the compost pile now is MSFT.

According to the charts Apple was right with the rest of the the technology sector in late 90's and early 2000's. You probably remembered the media 12 years ago saying the same thing but it just didn't happen. People betting on MSFT now have the wrong horse IMO..

Note that Apple's cash holdings are growing faster than their market cap. Apple now has $97.7 billion in cash on hand, with a market cap of ~$400 billion.

Damnit, no. Leave us people content with cheaper goods alone.

Kudos to Apple though. They always impress me with the goods people will buy. And no, that's not an insult - that's a remarkably good thing as a business.

Cheaper??? Who bought the goods? Not me, Apple stock has paid for my top of the line computers since mid 80's plus my current house..

Does it matter? Rest assured, there just simply are people who want cheaper goods. Stock your house with Apple if it fits your bill, but don't propose eliminating the choice for others.
