It shouldn't do anything to affect battery life. Not saying everybody here is crazy, but there's nothing about the jailbreak that should directly translate into increased battery life.

you guys arent crazy... i will say it definitely isnt worse!!
as for JB apps, i havent installed many at all but battery life is no worse and dare i join the conspiracy theorists, it seems better!
i havent installed any SBSettings or winterboard or eye candy stuff. i have notice that decreases performance

Still running 5.0 on my 4S (waiting for unlock), and since the JB, my battery life seems considerably better. I thought I was just imagining it too. I've gone from charging my phone daily to charging every other day since Friday.
Very awesome. Maybe some of those kernel patches fixed whatever underlying issue everyone was having.

| This is the first time I did this and it worked fine. Question, can i still use iTunes to sync? What do I have to do to restore it back to factory settings?

To restore it to factory settings, either Update to a newer version of iOS in iTunes or use the Restore function in iTunes.
