What are some things I should be looking for in order to fix this?

step 1 : make sure you have the latest and greatest, so open media manager, click help, and then click "check for updates"
step 2 : makes your PC is on the same network as your verizon actiontec, so either connect to the actiontec wireless or plug an ethernet cable into any of the LAN ports on the actiontec.
step 3 : make sure you're firewall has the media manager allowed for full access, verizon has a decent little walk through on this. you actually need TWO media manager files with full access in your firewall. Add VerizonMediaManager.exe and VZVideoAgent.exe to the firewall exception list. Use the following link to make sure of that. »www36.verizon.com/MM/FiosSupport/Norton.shtm
step 4 : Test and try to play the Sample video from the media manager program. if the sample video plays then you are configured right, if the sample video won't play, then you still have some wierd firewall or antivirus issue. There are a couple antivirus's that don't like the media manager according to VZ's website, so check into that as a possible problem.

»www36.verizon.com/MM/FiosSupport/ESET.shtm

If that sample video does work, then try this too, go to the help menu in media manager and from there to video component check then click ok, and then after it's done, try out the youtube widget again, and it should play.

UnnDunn posted : It's straightforward enough. You will receive an ActionTec MI424WR rev.G router. Since you are also subscribing to FiOS TV, you will be required to use that router (without it, you will not receive guide data, you won't be able to watch FiOS On Demand titles and data services such as Widgets, Media Manager, Remote DVR and multi-room DVR will not work.) It will provide an 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi network (but 802.11n speed is restricted to 54Mbps) and 10/100 Mbps Ethernet.

The router is solid, and provides a comprehensive set of options and controls, allowing you to set up your network any way you choose. Verizon can also manage it remotely, pushing down firmware updates, configuration changes and such. You can also use the Verizon In Home Agent tool on your PC to configure it (for example, you can use it to change from the default WEP encryption to WPA2 encryption.)

I would not recommend using your current router unless you need the ports.
