If you aren't seeing techs rolling it out (actually running fiber lines) and you aren't getting flyers advertising that you'll be able to get it soon then there is a 99 percent chance you won't be getting FiOS.

Verizon has pretty much stated its done with deployment period. The only places that get continued deployment are those that are contracted and can't be wiggled out of it doing.

So I'm sorry to be the bummer but at this point its very unlikely

Perhaps Verizon will chance there stance in the future but they've dumped over $23 Billion dollars into the infrastructure and the CEO that was the driving force of FiOS has been gone for a while now. Verizon seems much more interested in deploying wireless technology (LTE) or bundling wireless with other providers.

Forest Hills is NYC so I would expect it to be wired, just a question of when really. VZ is suppose to have NYC done by 2014 as I recall per the franchise agreement with the City.

Is gerard towers in 11375 and if so when was this wired up?

I know some homes on the southside and one building is wired up and I heard thru an online rumor that one building on the Northside on Queens Blvd + 67th Road was being wired up in three months. She said her building got notice it would take 3 months to wire.

So hopefully the buildings on Yellowstone Boulevard and Queens boulevard get wired up soon if not already.

Verizon's map shows one 1 building in Forest Hills as wired up.

11375 is still in NYC and 1 highrise which I presume is gerard towers on the southside seems to be wired up so hopefully the presidential buildings and buildings on queens blvd and the rest of the buildings here will start to see additions soon.

Manhattan seems to have a lot more FIOS out than here.

Local Telephone company will always try to deploy areas like Manhattan first cuz they will have a lot more "potential" customers than lesser density areas like Forest Hills.

My Cousin lives in Lower East side and his building has Verizon FIOS like a year something almost 2 ago.

I want FIOS too cuz I'm sick and tired of TWC of screwing me up every other month(latency Issue) and overpricing. but what can we people do in Forest Hills. I've been living here for like 20 years ... not going to move somewhere else for internet.

Well if alexander on the Southside has it in his building which is the only one on the Verizon list on 69th, it seems reasonable to assume it will spread to the north side of queens boulevard.

The Central Office got started in this area, and there are buildings with FIOS here already, it seems to me that it will definitely come to the buildings in the area.

Seems to me it will come here by mid 2012 to the end of 2013, or 2014 at latest.

Forest Hills is being built out for FIOS as we speak, although only one MDU on the southside has it on 69th.

FIOS Trucks right now were spotted on 64th and 108th street. One of the fellas spoke to the driver who said it will take some time for it to come around.

It will be here by 2014 which is NYC's requirement for FIOS rollout in NYC.

which part of forest hills? i've had it for 8 months now as most of the houses near metropolitan ave.

It is in process as we speak to Forest Hills.

Should be here by 2014 to all of the neighborhood. They did some sections of homes already and some MDU's. The rest is in motion.

It also depends on the Building Owner - the 2014 date and buildout mandate for Verizon is only binding if the owner plays along - otherwise all bet's for MDUs are off and it may be time to move to a more progressive landlord..

True. If you are in a rental building this could be problematic. For actually owners however this should not be an issue.

I dont think that has happened yet.

gerard towers is north of the LIRR.

Alexander said gerard towers has it and I know there is one building which has it in town so I presumed that was it. The other buildings which have it are elsewhere.

FIOS will be seen by 2014. It looks like its still happening for NYC as a whole.

I cant vouch for the accuracy of the map. but I took a look and the only place in forest hills that has it, is not Gerard towers.

Gerard towers is on yellowstone blvd, 1 block south of queens blvd.

Gerard Towers does have it.

type in gerard tower's address (70-25 Yellowstone Boulevard, forest hills, ny)

select Apt, and type in any apartment such as 4D

you will see
