[Services] Is AT&T blocking FaceTime

I just tried FaceTime for the first time today. When I try to send out I get a message (on ipad2) "FaceTime failed XXX@yyy not available for FaceTime". However when the message is sent in, it works fine. I got an Apple support message about "Using FaceTime behind a Firewall". That mentions using port forwarding but after 2 hours with AT&T NoSupport I still don't know how to do this.
I am using XP on a Dell with a 2Wire 3600HGV Modem/Router.
At this time I am waiting for a reply from Pace/2Wire support.

Any body know if it is possible for this combo to work?

For what combo to work?
What two Apple devices are you trying to connect with Facetime?
What network are these devices connected to?
You mention a Dell PC running XP, facetime is only for Apple devices.

I guess I was not clear on my setup. I was trying to contact my son-in-law using an iPad2. The iPad is connected to the internet thru the 2Wire Modem/WiFi by the WiFi. The 2Wire is wire connected to the Dell using the Local Network connection.

My son-in-law made contact using both his Apple desktop and iPhone.

I recently received info from 2Wire support that told me to use the DMZplus mode but that has not yet got me connected.

That is probably the only way to get the connection to work because the 2wire NAT implementation seems to keep many applications from working (DMZ+ eliminates NAT for the one DMZ device). When you setup the DMZ+, did you see (and select) the IPad from the dropdown menu? Until the specific device that you want to use DMZ+ is selected and the new setting is saved, DMZ+ really does nothing.




Sometimes a reboot of both the connected device(s) and the 2wire router is required to fully activate the DMZ+ mode.
