So I am indifferent to the law, really. I wouldn't care if it was a helmet enforced state or not, I still wear one.
Though this has reminded me of the dummy that died from a head injury while protesting helmet laws in NY earlier this year. »abcnews.go.com/US/york-rider-die···13993417 |

| there was a guy who just died here a few days ago and he was wearing a helmet. they don't always save lives. poor guy was just trying to enjoy the unseasonably nice weather we are having.
as lotusracer said, it's a personal decision. when i had a bike, i lived in a state that didn't require a helmet. i almost never wore one in town. i liked the freedom of not having a helmet on when going stop light to stop light. plus i never had to worry about leaving my helmet on my bike or carrying it with me when i went into a store or whatever. i always wore one on the highway though. mainly to keep the bugs out of my face. |

KearnstdElf WizardPremium join:2002-01-22 Mullica Hill, NJ | brings me to an idea to replace helmet and seatbelt laws with some form of limited liability laws. in that if an accident is proven to be your fault for one thing the ability for you or your insurance carrier to sue the other driver or their insurance carrier is automatically waived in relation to injuries from the accident..
in short if they find safety devices could have prevented injury or death and the accident is the fault of the one injured or dead they(or family) lose the right to sue in such a case.
on the other hand I say leave nothing changed if the other driver is at fault, so that if a drunk kills someone hes on the line for all the cash and felonies available with in the law. -- [65 Arcanist]Filan(High Elf) Zone: Broadband Reports |

I have a fully comprehensive health insurance plan... in 2007 when I was in hospital for 5 days and nights with pneumonia, it didn't cost me one cent.
I'm more hoping for a "lights out scenario" if the worst happens. Actually, considering some of the cars I drive, they really aren't much more protective than a motorcycle.
