Re: Acronis True Image archives

If the HD is toast, you will need a Acronis Bootable Rescue Media to restore from the *.tib file. The Rescue Media should be built with the TI version you used to create the backup file. I've discovered that not all image copies are backward compatible.

I don't know of another way to recovery the image except to find an amigo who can create the Rescue Media or re-install Acronis on another machine and then create the the Rescue Media.

Hope this helps.

Ah sorry, I didn't clarify. I do have a rescue cd that was created with TI previously. It just couldn't find the archive to restore, other than an old one from about 6 months ago, but it is corrupt, missing archives. I took a look at the NAS share from another machine, and that's when I saw the Mybackup1.tib, Mybackup2.tib ect files are not files, but folders. It's hard to describe, it's a total mess. I'll try to add a screen shot.
