Without knowing what the path used to be, it almost seems as if Boston and NY are not talking to each other on Comcast's ibone, so it's routing around it.

I came here to post the same thing. Starting at about 12:50 today (+/- 3 mins), the northeast routing kicked the bucket. Connecting from Comcast to the VPN which is hosted on a FiOS business connection, it's practically unusable.

Here's a chart of ping over time:

And a traceroute to Comcast:

Here's what the routing was a year ago:

I was pleasantly surprised that Comcast fixed the issue within a few hours of posting here...hopefully they're browsing today

I've noticed the same thing too today while playing SWTOR, where latency is all over the place, and from tracerts to just the home page for it, www.swtor.com, everything is find until it hits FL then that's where it starts getting dicey.

There appears to be a problem between Comcast (AS7922) and TATA Communications (AS6453). Both engineering teams are aware and working the issue. It should be resolved shortly. Very sorry about the inconvenience.

looks like they're making some headway, my latency in SWTOR dropped back down to 40-50 like normal.

Routing for me has gotten a lot better but still seeing some ping spikes which I would expect.

Much better. I am now routing from San Jose directly to Seattle.
