[SU] iTunes 10.5.2

Blurb just says something about fixing distortion on certain CD imports. I am sure there's some stuff changed/fixed that's not reported as well.

What's new in iTunes 10.5.2

iTunes 10.5.2 includes several improvements for iTunes Match and fixes an audio distortion problem when playing or importing certain CDs.

iTunes 10.5.1 included:

• iTunes Match. Store your entire music library in iCloud, including music you've imported from CDs, and enjoy your collection anywhere, anytime, on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, computer, or Apple TV.

• iTunes in the Cloud. iTunes now stores your music and TV purchases in iCloud and makes them available on your devices anywhere, any time, at no additional cost.

• Automatic Downloads. Purchase music from any device or computer and automatically download a copy to your Mac, PC and iOS devices.

• Download Previous Purchases. Download your past music, TV, app, and book purchases again, at no additional cost. Previous purchases may be unavailable if they are no longer on the iTunes Store.

• Sync with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5.

• Wi-Fi Syncing. Automatically sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes any time they're both on the same Wi-Fi network.

Personally I'd like to see a complete overhaul of iTunes. It's become a real turd. Not only does it often hog resources (I swear there's a memory leak or garbage collection problem), it frequently becomes unresponsive for 15-30 seconds since the Wi-Fi sync stuff was added. Thankfully it does not freeze when playing media. There are many many other issues too but those mentioned really irk me. Considering it's the damn hub of the i-universe, Apple owes us something better. Frankly it's a piece of shit.

This last update was useless and not worth the bandwidth.

I could add a couple of things, but that's a good post right there ...

+1 It's a necessary evil and nothing more. With the advent of Spotify, I tried to drop iTunes all together but unfortunately, Spotify would (occasionally) stomp on my local metadata for local files in favor of its own metadata... bad bad bad.

For the most part, I sync to iTunes only when necessary, and stream everything else, either via Spotify or subsonic (depending on if I have the content myself or not )

iTunes took my money, did not download the book I paid for and tonight took the music I paid for. Now It won't accept the gift card I bought. This lesson only cost about $150.

WHO NEEDS IT?
