[F@H] PS3 "unable to connect to server"

I just checked my PS3, and there is a message reading
"Error: Unable to connect to server. Trying again in 00h:32m:32s (0x80710092)"
The timer is counting down....

Re: [F@H] PS3 "unable to connect to server"

Don't suppose you have a Server #?

Looking at the server page, there seems to be a lot of "reject, full, down, no response" from quite a few.

Just noticed I can't get a WU for GPU, or send work.

This seems to be a weekend problem, and I see it happening frequently!

Kind of a waste of time, wouldn't you say?

Nope.
I wrote the full text that is on my screen. I don't know how to get logs or if it is even possible.

Well for you, just have to wait.
Looks like every one of the PS-3 servers are on strike.

Thanks.
I guess it needed a "time out."

Me too:

Workunits waiting to be uploaded: 1
Workunits dropped due to timeout: 4

Folding@Home news shows that there was a Stanford wide outage due to lack of chilled water for the server rooms. How there can be a lack of chilled waters at the temperatures we are currently having I don't understand. Apparently the original problem is solved (someone put a bucket of water out into the cold?), but many servers are still down and may not come back online until sometime on Monday.

This ALWAYS seems to happen, (albeit not very often, but increasing in regularity) on the weekends!!

Seems to me they could assign someone to periodically check the server room on weekends. You know, maybe split up and rotate weekend duty, between staff to baby sit servers.
I dunno. It's very frustrating when it happens.

It looks like somebody heard you rusdi See Profile, some more servers are back online and my PS3 is folding again.

Yup, my GPU client just sent home two, and got another WU, after being idle most all day.

Oh well, maybe the servers will stay up & running now.

Something is still not working properly at Stanford. No increase in workunit or point count since Friday for the entire team!

I think the stats servers are still bonked. They have been pretty reliable lately, but just like all the rest are subject to overheating.
They are probably the LAST ones on the list to be kicked. Then they will have to work overtime to digest from all the finished work, and new work servers.

Current work
I seem to be getting work, and sending back completed work.
But nothing has shown on the completed work "points" for a few days.

I don't think points are showing up for anybody right now.
Maybe one day.
In the meanwhile, at least the WUs are coming in and going back home.

It appears Pande Group is aware of the problem, and an "e-mail has been sent".

"One of the display database servers is still down, but points are being recorded and credited" according to a Pande Group Member.

Have patience. They will be fixed, "soon".

This is what I like to see. For a brief, shining moment, I can fantasize that I am in parkut See Profile territory.
