You are aware that it has started already for countless numbers of customers, right?

I was gifted this morning 525MB to the 1050MB plan.
A true rollover with 566BM going into refill + 525MB = 1091 MB, so that's my plan max.
EDIT IN: 9000 modem.

When you check system control and see Plan Allowance (MB) 1050, your next refill be your lucky day Rachel.

Very nice to come on turkey day plus my Packers made my day.
Hmm besides the double speed for 8 weeks now , I'm not dreaming...

Just got an email that says it starts next week from a national HN rep. I have noticed an increase in daily limits on some but not all accounts.

So far I've only seen rollover details posted for HN9000 users. Maybe the 7000s get theirs next week.

Yeah. Since there are mostly posts from 9000 users who have the rollover, it would be interesting to hear from 9000 users here who do NOT have the rollover, to get a sense of the percentage.

A Tech's sources have proven to be partially reliable, but not completely - remember the rollover was supposed to be up to a week and 1.4GB total.

Hello all,

I'm sorry but I don't think i quite understand exactly what a data roll over is, so could someone explain it or just tell me the definition.. To me a data roll over is an upgrade for the customers allowances, am I correct?

If this does involve with the allowances well i'm on The HN7000S modem and I have the pro plus edition with a 475 MB download limit.. Please let me know if they upgrade my kind.

Thanks

I think we got some added bandwidth and speed because of a change in compression by HN and it is unrelated to the rollover idea. I suppose we will find out what the emails I received actually meant in a few days.

The rollover would take your maximum to 950MB, with still only 475MB per day as a maximum added. You would have 950MB available if you had a couple of low-usage days.

I'm wondering, would this be something that would require leaving my modem on to receive? I shut down my computer and modem after each use.

I would imagine that the modem checks for updates and patches each time it is turned on but if you wanna be certain then you can just leave your modem on, it doesn't need the computer at all for its updates and patches.

Introducing Download Bank – Giving You More Freedom than Ever!
The pilot of this FREE enhancement to your HughesNet service launched in mid‐November and is continuing to roll
out over the next few months.
Dear HughesNet Member,
We’re rolling out a brand‐new feature—the Download Bank―enabling you to save any unused portion of your
Download Allowance. As part of system‐wide network upgrades that started last summer, this latest enhancement
lets you do more of what you enjoy online.
What is the Download Bank?
Think of it as a bank that holds your Download Allowances—the capacity available to you during a 24‐hour period.
Now you can ‘bank’—or carry over―your daily Download Allowance up to 2x the capacity (that’s up to 900 MB,
depending on your plan). With your bank filled, you have the flexibility to download a little, or a lot, any time you
want―it’s completely up to you!
More Freedom. Less Worry.
Let’s say you have been out of town for a day. The Download Bank lets you capture the Download Allowances you
didn’t use. So if you want to stream a movie, but you’re concerned you might use more than your daily allowance
of 250 MB—no problem! You can dip into your “savings” at the Download Bank. (Of course, you can also schedule
large downloads using the HughesNet Download Manager―or you can use a Restore Token―the FREE one you
receive each month―to keep your online experience up to speed.)
And the best part?
You don’t have to do a thing to take advantage of this new feature. Your Download Bank will automatically start.
PLUS—any information learned during the pilot may be useful for further service enhancements. Stay tuned!

Is that only for HN9000 customers?

Or is this going to work for HN7000 customers?

I wonder if they did a recent software update because my bandwidth just plummeted from my bucket when nobody in my house was even using the internet.

LOL. Figures they get something like this just as I'm about to leave. But the rollover still won't make up for the other issues I complained about. I highly doubt the rollover will happen while I am still a customer.

But I'm happy for the people who are getting it who don't have any other options but Hughesnet.

Your excitement will pass the first time you suffer Sprint outages. I have Sprint 3G also but keep HN as a backup--HN is rock-solid, EXCEPT of course for weather-related problems (which don't happen here often as it never seems to rain!).
