kes601 join:2007-04-14 Virginia Beach, VA kudos:2 | No COAX LAN light Just noticed my router does not have the COAX LAN light on. Remote DVR works fine, VOD and widgets work fine, my iMac upstairs that is connected via another Actiontec that is setup as a bridge works fine.
Any ideas why this light would not be on? |

 | #1 - LED blew out #2 - One of the set top boxes on your network is communicating way below 180mbps to the router causing the Lan light to go out. Log into your router and check you MOCA stats to see. The Lan coax light is steady at speeds above 180, at speeds between 150-180 it blinks, under 150 it shuts off. |

Devices are listed across the top and the same devices listed along the left edge. The MOCA rate between two devices is listed at the intersection. Note that Router to Device 1 and Device 1 to Router have different cells and typically have different values.

I had too many splitters because of my Actiontecs I was using as bridges. Just got rid of my splitters and bought a Belkin Powerline 500 AV kit, which amazingly is just as fast as the Actiontec was. Now the stats are good, COAX LAN is solid green and hopefully I am good to go. |
