Fort Smith, AR | [rant] Lost everything...kind of. Due to hard drive failure on my iMac and backup issues on my external HD, I lost all my pics, music, etc. However, it is all on my Apple TV. I SSH'ed into it, found the music folder, but it's empty...where is the music stored on the ATV, and can it even be recovered? |

If your iMac did suffer a mechanical breakdown You will not be able to recover your stuff BUT the data may still be recoverable in a LAB equipped to do the work -- very expensive.
