Most entry level cablemodem service was originally provisioned at 3mbits. only the docsis 1.0 (early generations) were single and/or duplex around at 3+ megabits unless the signal was not amplified & conditioned properly over long distances. It almost seems a waste of a cablemodem to provision less than 10 megabits. Comcast can do alot better and qualify more people at or above the poverty level.
