I'm not an Astros fan, but that would create proper balance in the divisions, since the NL Central has 6 teams, AL West has 4 teams, while the rest of the divisions have 5 teams. -- GO LEAFS GO! |

Yes, the Astros are terrible right now and I've never liked their current ballpark but I don't like the AL either. -- This is the way the world ends Not with a bang but a whimper. |

I dont understand how this is going to work. Interleague all year? Impossible when you have two different sets of rules. It's ridiculously unbalanced in favor of the AL. The DH seems to be reserved for players who cant field worth a shit, but still have a (most likely chemically enhanced) bat. NL teams will have to plug the DH spot with the 24th guy on the roster. That DH bullshit is the worst thing to hit the major leagues since 1919. -- You're so vain... I bet you think this post is about you. |

The MLBPA will never let the AL give up the DH, because it allows for washed up players to still make ridiculous change. I cant see the NL giving up the pitcher hitting anytime soon, and I hope they dont, because to tell you the truth, it's much better for the game. The DH was a gimmick used to inflate scoring. -- You're so vain... I bet you think this post is about you. |

| reply to The Dv8or I just dont get the concept of pitchers having to bat. Pitchers are valuable commodity, and their job is to pitch, get you deep into the game. Pitchers aren't very good hitters anyway, because it's not their thing. -- GO LEAFS GO! |

I think it's absolutely an insult to the game that you have a player whose sole purpose is to get an at-bat 4 times a game, and spends 95% of the game sitting on his ass. Im not so much in favor of the pitcher hitting as I am against the DH. Maybe one of Doubleday's mistakes in game design was having the pitcher hit in the first place instead of going with 8 man lineups. -- You're so vain... I bet you think this post is about you. |
