Re: How's RAGE? I played through it a bit last night. Unfortunately, though I had hopes of doing a Let's Play of it, I found that attempting to record via FRAPS caused the game to stutter and crackle (bizarrely enough, the recording itself was smooth as silk). I also ran into issues with the game freezing up when attempting to assign key functions, some odd stuttering/hitching without apparent cause, and for some reason the game first started up on my second monitor (though being able to choose which monitor the game plays on is a first for me). All of the actual combat areas I've come across so far are exceptionally linear, with invisible walls as far as the eye can('t) see. And sadly the consolization shows through with item interaction (see some items on a shelf? Try to get one, you grab 'em all) and advanced graphical settings (aside from antialiasing, there are none).
On the good side, the game looks gorgeous, the weapons have a good "feel" to them, the AI seems relatively competent, the animation is excellent (seeing enemies flinch and stumble as they're hit is awesome) and the voicework doesn't make me want to stick my power drill in my ear and pull the trigger.

kudos:1 | I installed the ATI RAGE patch drives even when they were intended for 5000 and 6000 series and forced vsync from Catalyst, that fixed my texture buffering problems, didn't play but it makes me feel better about it.
Tonight i get a proper game session.
