I am pretty happy with my speeds right now. I switched over from AT&T DSL about a month and a half ago. I could only get about 2mb downstream with that. I am guessing that my 12/1 plan with Charter more than meets my needs. I stream maybe one Netflix movie a week and do listen to a lot of Sirius radio over the Internet. It sounds good streaming through my Yamaha receiver.

The thought of five times faster speed appeals to the geek in me but I am not sure what I need the extra speed for. I also don't think I really need the extra data cap amount. Oh yes, my last kid just moved out to college, so we stream even less than we used to. I guess I could watch more movies via Amazon Prime since I am a member of that.

Just out of curiosity, how much is the Ultra 60 plan? I suppose if I had that I could just stream to my heart's content. I might have talked myself into it.

Ok, I ran five tests just for some variety. The numbers show the ping, download, and upload speeds. They look good to me, although I am wondering why the ones farther away have the fastest speeds.

Dallas, TX - 11, 15.24, .94

Oklahoma City, OK - 22, 13.06, .96

Madison, WI - 50, 21.30, .97

Palo Alto, CA - 92, 21.69, .96

New York, NY - 53, 22.97, .97

Did you do on anyother speed sites?

I just ran a few tests using the Flash-based system on this site. I ran three or four and all of the tests return download speeds in the 17 to 23 mb range. Not bad.

I was just askin cuz my friend is on channel bonding ans he's on the 12/1 and he's geting 40+mbps.... cant wait till i get it im on 25/3...

Hey, I'm in Benbrook as well and finally saw the channel bonding yesterday, just in time for Gears of War 3 on XBOX Live.

I've noticed tremendously stable downstream speeds. It's amazing.

I have the SB6120 and the Ubee U10C035 as backup. I haven't attached the Ubee but thought about doing it just to see if there's a difference. Don't the Ubee's have 6 channel bonding?

I had to reconfigure my router (Buffalo WHR-300GN) as some wireless clients were acting weird after the Docsis 3.0 update. All I did was release and renew DHCP Auto Acquisition and everything is great.

Hey did u noticed if ur internet went out were thet turned over channel bonding?

Well when DOCSIS 3.0 was launched here the downstream light flashed blue for about 5 hours while the CMTS was being configured for DOCSIS 3.0 this is when I had a SB6120 now I have a SBG6580 which supports 8 channel bonding. So Mr Torres If I were you I would stay up until alittle after midnight each weekday to see if you modem goes offline and starts flashing blue and stays that way for a while between 12-6 in the morning.

Or did the downstream light flash with all the lights solid?
And when you say after 12:00am is that 12:15 12:30?

When we got channel bonding here the internet went out for 2 1/2 -3 hours one night and when it came back on channel bonding was working.
I think it was around 1:00am when it went out.

Yes all the lights went out and it hit right around midnight but I can not say what charter does only what TWC did when they upgraded the CMTS that I was on when DOCSIS 3.0 rolled out recently I was switched to a new CMTS still a cisco one. I am on watch tonight for some work on the internet in my area as on the network status page TWC listed that Internet users might experience sporadic issues in North Texas.

what does sporadic issuse mean?

I am thinking something to do with frequency changes in the Digital QAMs not just H.S.I as TWC is planning a big SDV move on 10/3 when they move 121 channels over to SDV and I think they are probrably moving H.S.I. frequencies around to make room for more SDV QAMs. I do know that they are doing a ton of Node splits in Dallas/Farmers Branch and Arlington next week between 12-6 am 9/27-9/30 according to the network status page.
