reply to Ukiah Jim

Re: IP-DSLAM 3.0 and continuing loss of sync issue.

Well, the fact that it pretty much behaves when the RG is plugged into the garage via an extension cord, on a completely different circuit, points to either a possible bad breaker, or just that the circuit may be close to being maxxed out, and the draw from the bulb starting up is almost too much for it??? Hope that makes sense. Seems it would trip the breaker though.......but I'm just guessing.

That is a good possibility for it too. Might even be a bad bulb in the scanner. However if that's the case it might be cheaper buying a new scanner than to replace the bulb (unless it is part of a copier or something)

I guess the simple process of elimination comes into play.......when my battery backup is fully charged, and I plug the RG into it, if I turn the scanner on and it doesn't take a lot of errors or drop the signal, then that will definitely prove that there is an issue with that circuit, yes?

yep, or another thing if you are electrically inclined wire the outlet the RG is plugged into on the garage's breaker (you would have to go in the electrical panel for this one). However that might not be possible depending.

Yeah, I see what you're saying......that might be tricky, as I believe all the bedrooms outlets are on one circuit.....something like that. Can't recall, and I'm not looking at the panel right now.

Also, the scanner is on the fritz, and sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't. Matter of fact, sometimes it just makes this humming noise, and you have to unplug it, and plug it back in to make it stop. We hardly ever use it, so we just haven't bothered to go get a new one........plus money is tight, and it's just not a priority.
