Depends on the presence, and nearness, of any VRADs. There is a VRAD serving my neighborhood, but I am about 4,000 feet out, which is about 1,000 feet too far. I never checked on the availability of IP-DSLAM. I was told U-verse is not yet available here.
I went with another DSL provider offering ADSL2+ from their own DSLAM in the CO I am connected to: Sonic.net, LLC. Their "Fusion" product. Alas, they only serve California; and "Fusion", is only in the S.F. Bay Area at this time.
