1 edit | b/s fee this fee was (at once a long time ago) necessary when VOIP companies were taking over from traditional POTS service lines and were not getting favorable market share so that "call termination" reimbursement rates would end up being paid to small voip carriers such as vonage. nowadays with AT&T swallowing bell south AND about to gobble up t-mobile, combined with the fact that 25% of the "LOST" landline market is now cellular only households... this is a BULLSHIT FEE that no longer serves a purpose but to fatten at&t's bottom line! end of story!!
now that you have been properly informed, feel free to cancel your landline (port your number if you wish too) with AT&T and go to the competition-- that is whatever is left of it.. |
