I flung your terminology at the tech support fellow and managed to not get treated like a computer-illiterate this time around. (It's funny how using technical terms will make them treat you completely differently even if you're communicating exactly the same thing.) He said he reset our profile but we still couldn't get it going, so without my needing to suggest it, he said he'd have a tech come out tomorrow to take a look at it. Will give you fellows an update tomorrow. |

 | Success. A couple techs came by this morning and confirmed what I'd been saying. They figured it was the port and went back to the office to check it out. Was playing Minesweeper waiting for them to call when I noticed my antivirus updating itself. They called back a few minutes later to make sure we were up and running and said they'd replaced some bad equipment.
So all is peachy now. Thanks so much for the advice! |
