Re: [Rant] Recorded trainee saying the F-word 3 times during cal said by PX Eliezer The OP could have taken the opportunity to educate the CSR, rather than trying to get him fired. That's really the job of his super etc. And if that is a frequent occurance, perhaps they should both be fired. Every one of us has complained about Comcast CSRs and our experiences with them. Could this perhaps be a symptom of the greater problem? Perhaps this call center needs to tighten up and clean house. Teach those who do have a job to respect said job. Again, JMHO. |

He still cussed and a customer heard it... This is a bad job market, why do you want to cut off someone's perhaps only source of income because you overheard a few dirty words in a conversation you weren't supposed to hear in the first place and apparently not even directed towards you?
Why don't you let his bosses take care of it and leave the issue alone. If he is a trainee I'm sure they will hear/have already heard this. |

And yes he should be fired as he probably broke their code of conduct for his actions... you cant just cuss like that and then nothing happens... You would really want the person fired? I could see if it was direct at you, but c'mon. It was unintentional.
Why did you not just mention it to him that you heard his foul language and didn't like it? You could of gotten an apology right then, instead of hanging up and thinking "I wonder if i can get him fired?"
Weaselly thing to do IMHO.

The word is is used in all places that has workers. | Re: [Rant] Recorded trainee saying the F-word 3 times during cal I was also written up and it aided in me getting fired over a comment in here on DSL in anther forum. Someone else slipped out i was an employee, called in, i got a phone call at home, harassed by my HR about it and eventually fired. I called someone a whiner or something stupid like that. I then could not find work or collect Employment insurance so I collected welfare for 5 months while those same aholes paid for it in their taxes. I am working again for a good company, totally different scope of work but least it feeds my 4 kids and wife. |

I just think it speaks volumes about you that you're out for this guy's head when it was a simple accident on his part. Words are just words, don't let it get you riled up. It is what the unemployed tend to do all day, look for any reason to start trouble. They tend to think they are out stop trouble from happening but don't realize that they are the biggest cause of trouble.
Then to top it all off, they throw out phrases like "This why the country is going downhill." to justify why they should be the cause of trouble. Kind of ironic really though. The OP throws out that line not realizing that the reality is, they are the biggest reason that "the country is going downhill." Now that is what is really sad. -- "I like to refer to myself as an Adult Film Efficienato." - Stuart Bondek |

One of our CSRs (who has been here for 8-9 years) made a mistake on an order being placed and said, "Oh fuck, I did that wrong..." fixed her error and went on with the call.
A week or so later a registered letter detailing the entire call (along with a recording of the call on disc) was received and made its way to The Boss. Enraged that someone would be so abhorrently rude and disrespectful towards a paying customer, this lady wanted our CSR fired UNCONDITIONALLY and with great malice.
The Boss listened to the recording and called the CSR to his office. He let her listen to it and asked, "Was this you?" She admitted it was, apologized quite a bit, then the boss told her to try not to do it again and he would deal with it.
He sent the lady a nice letter back stating that he had dealt with the entire situation and we would no longer have these types of issues from our customer service department ever again. She still works here and is one of our best CSRs to date. We put a filter in our phone system that redirects all calls from that lady's area code away from her line.
Bottom line: You're not getting this kid fired... |

--------------------------------
And if the CSR did end up getting fired, he might sue Comcast, having nothing to lose.
He wouldn't win, but he could make trouble.
And his lawyers would discover who "inferno" is, and sue HIM.
Sure, "inferno" would prevail in court, but those sorts of legal defenses still cost a lot of money.
--------------------------------
In fact, maybe that's why inferno rants here, instead of complaining to Comcast directly. |

| Re: [Rant] Recorded trainee saying the F-word 3 times during To any latecomers to this thread:
The title is a little misleading.
The CSR did NOT curse out the customer, nor say "fuck" to the customer at all.
Rather, the CSR said it conversationally to his own supervisor. Yes, the CSR should have been more careful with the mute/hold button....
[While that is not good, it does not deserve termination with extreme prejudice, and (like it or not) most younger folks don't view that word as a big deal.] |
