Re: Nothing like upholding 18th Century rule...

Martyrdom is still alive and well in Iran, quite popular at that.

It won't backfire except for further distorting people's perceptions of what Islam is about. Extremism and religion apparently go hand in hand.

Yeah, because PETA is constantly murdering people. Green Peace regularly destroys buildings full of people too.

Just like a religion those wackos.

With the KEY difference that religion and state are separated here.
The biggest problem with Islam is not only that it's a very backwards religion, but Islam IS the state.

Religion and modernity are polar opposites. Make no mistake, they are incompatible ways of life, and one of those ways of life seeks the destruction of any other way of life.

One of the dangers of countries like that, is that we're not in the 17th century anymore. We actually have apocalyptic weapons available these days.

Thankfully, i think the majority of the people in Iran are way too informed for backwards thinking like this, but it sucks for them that this is actually state policy AND we still have the minority to worry about.

if it wasn't for people carrying for the environment do you really think you'd have clean water to drink? HELL NO! the Corps would take over and our environment would go down a shit hole just like in 3rd world countries where P&G has to go in and actually provide water filtration systems.

Also without the Environmentalists MUCH of the animals that we see today would be long gone or on their way to that- just like the Bald Eagle and much of everything else.

And with that there are MANY people that would consider that offensive. My family for one. We own and farm over 25,000 acres around the United States. EVERYTHING is done 100% USDA Organically and not even ONE inch has any types of chemicals or processed using machinery as 99.9% of the farms today. We farm just like they did back in the day- mule/horse drawn plows or done by hand.

I guess destroying someone house is peaceful.

»yobbo.wordpress.com/2007/10/30/a···s-house/

An animal rights group says it flooded the home of a University of California, Los Angeles professor who carries out research on monkeys.

The FBI says the Animal Liberation Front is claiming it used a garden hose to flood the house of Edythe London on October 20.

The incident is being investigated as a case of domestic terrorism. The FBI is seeing if it is connected to a June incident where an incendiary device was lighted but did not explode by the car of a UCLA eye disease researcher.

University officials say the flooding caused between $20,000 and $40,000 in damage.

You dont actually believe your water safe to drink? Do you ? I can post quite a few articles on that. Did you know that 50% of meat is contaminated with E coli ?

Actually... yes I do believe my water is fairly safe to drink. I have never once contracted cholera or similar diseases from my drinking water nor have I received any internal parasites from it. I do believe that it could be cleaner and that the removal of hormones by means of better filtering could help it, but when you compare our water quality to that of a third world country or even where it was one-hundred years ago here it's pretty incredible. Hell, we even have fluoride in our water which is largely responsible for our current level of dental hygiene which originally was measured by a 50% to 60% improvement in dental health (fluoride toothpaste availability has reduced this benefit to an estimated 18% to 40% improvement) so yeah, I'm fairly confident in the safety of our water.

As for the earlier posters claims about organics being healthier. I'm glad you can fetch a higher price for your goods by using organic farming methods. However organic methods alone cannot feed this country so I hope you stay in the minority for all of our sakes.

study or opinion ?

Organic foods may have other benefits, though. Charles Benbrook, Ph.D., chief scientist at The Organic Center, asserts that some organic products are less processed, which means they may contain fewer chemically adulterated ingredients (think hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, and preservatives).

One can only guess what that post has to do with Iran or the topic. Nothing at all?
