»[Rant] I thought digital service was everywhere....
I would consider moving to that town in the future. |

If I had an HD set, I would most likely watch the SD format but I don't have either. The reason is my eyes. I really don't know how I going to handle a new tv if I get one. I can't handle 3d games. That why I never got into gaming systems. I do have a little trouble seeing 3d. I do see it but possible not as good as other people do. I can't do the magiceye at all.
Let say you want to record channel 115 at 1 a.m. and channel 120 at 3 a.m. You would have to get up at 2:55 and wait (Try not to watch the end of your show), then switch the channel to 120. If you get a qam dvr, you can only recorded unscrambled local broadcast station, plus you would need to rescan often. Before you say get a DVR from the cable company. The cost $16 & not all service levels can get a DVR. |

Your much like me my friend!
I love analogue!!!!! -- I love VHS,it looks and sounds much better!!
I prefer SD TVs -- I prefer CRT sets as they produce a BETTER PICTURE (Always have)
I prefer LANDLINES -- Much better quality of service.....
Why did things have to get so bad over the years?? |

I am using a CRT monitor right now. I may be misunderstanding you if not please don't talk to me sarcastically. Thank you.
The reason is my eyes can't handle lcd, HD & 3D. Even if I had HD set, I would watch the SD format.
I like the vcr & non cable dvr. It lets you set the recording times & channel. Weekly, Daily or Once unlike a cable dvr. Cable DVR depend on the program guide & you can't set a weekly time. See forums.comcast.com for that.
They could of keep the analog format. There is a newer analog compression format that could allow more channels.
I do like the clearer picture the dta brings in though.
Digital breaks up even with cable. Some people with an antenna that received analog, can not get the digital signal or gets chopped up. Not everything with technology is an improvement in my opinion. |

I think you need more that just a cable card for the Windows 7 pc. There are problems already with that. I read on forums.comcast.com |

Im glad to see someone else value GOOD QUALITY!! Thank you & sorry, I tend to read somethings wrong. I wish they still made the Beta Vcr. I was able to stand the change over to a VHS vcr. I am still going to dread the change from a vcr to a dvr-once they stop making blank tapes or my vcrs croaks. Same when I forced to switch from a crt to a newer type of monitor. I just hope I can buy a standard definition tv, when my tvs go out.
I maybe forced to get prescription computer glasses with the new type of monitors/tvs. |

I have the room, their detail is terrific and I've no inclination to replace them.
