You are correct, but that is true of all companies because you need to remember the laws are setup establishing that companies are there to make as much money as possible for the investors. How they do it and the benefits they bring society as a whole is an afterthought. Ethics and morals be damned!
Even with that though, they could sacrifice short gains to establish long term gains but then you have the stock jockeys all up in arms. Which is funny considering they, in a vast majority of the cases, dont even have voting rights in the company to begin with. |
