Re: This DTA thing is garbage

That is correct. Cable providers were required to continue to use analog for an extended period of time. This allowed people like yourself to continue to use existing equipment that was not digital ready.

I'm certainly not trying to confuse you more, I just wanted to point out that the DTA is there so that people without digital ready televisions have an option that isn't a full converter.

HUH???

This has been already discussed to death here and while I do not want to start anything here, you are wrong.

All my TVs are digital ready, all have QAM tuners and I have WOW Basic. WOW is encrypting all my channels so I will be unable to receive them with my already built-in digital tuner and unless I upgrade to WOW digital service (more money) I will have to use this DTA device which will be a downgrade for me.

I CANNOT receive the new WOW basic digital service even though I have a digital TV because WOW has encrypted it. The reasons are many and are posted here in other threads. Bottom line, it's got nothing at all to do with analog TVs.

I will be downgrading to limited basic service as the TV part of WOW is of little interest to me. It was nice but I am not going back to tuning to channel 3.

WOW doesn't give a lot of info about Limited Basic but I assume it is the 20 or so channels that are considered local. Since you have a QAM wouldn't it make more sense to use an antenna and get over the air? It will save you roughly $20 a month.

I cannot simply drop WOW as I need them for Internet access. I suspect that limited basic will cost almost nothing if I buy Internet access, we will see. Bottom line is I care nothing for any TV from WOW, I just want the Internet part.

Let us know what they offer you. I see no bundles with Limited Basic. Looks like it is only listed as a la carte.
