Re: hypocrites

I agree 100%. I had sales kids coming door 2 door over Xmas attempting to promote Uverse as 100% digital/fiber with TWC being analog.
I asked them to sign me up when they run the fiber to my house, then they responded that its 'only' to a neighborhood node... and tried to point it at TWC being all copper. After I grilled them on a few questions - they said that they had work to do, covering all the homes, and couldn't answer my questions.

I wonder how many they sold on their tactics.

yeah both cable and U-verse are hybrid fiber/copper and that gets distorted all the time. However cable has coax copper that can carry tons more bandwidth than twisted pair copper, thus DOCSIS 3.0 can beat AT&T on Internet speeds.

True. There's no DOCSIS 3.0 here - and AT&T's 'standard' 3Mbps/1Mbps bundle costs as much as TWC's 10/1Mbps bundle (with Boost).
I do live 1,000' from the VRAD, but I haven't had the desire to try it.

I'll just cut the TV cord though - OTA is good here in LA - I'm hitting 62 channels on OTA.

I advise you to give U-verse Internet a try even if you don't want TV or digital phone service. I went from Road Runner to U-verse Internet several years ago and have been very happy. (However TWC is rolling out DOCSIS 3.0 and 50/5 service here soon... tempted to give it a try.)

I've been tempted to move my voice and Internet over, however, AT$T wants a $100 install fee.
TWC= $77/month for Internet/phone (10Mbps)
AT&T= $70/month for Internet/phone + $100 install. (3Mbps)

Sign up for the lowest TV package (family?) on UVerse & there's no installation charge. No contract keeping you from canceling once installed either.

I've been thinking about that one....
Uverse's cheapest bundle (triple play) costs more per month than my TWC 'all the best'. Kind of sad that you can get Uverse Voice w/o install fees, but the second they add Internet its $100, then triple play - they pay you back... after a few months.
