I'm down to one occasional visitor now. When you originally posted we had five that were fighting for the rights to the feeder. There were some amazing dogfights going on out back and I saw a behaviour that I had never seen before. They usually will try to poke at the eyes of an intruder. What I was watching was one of them while they rode on the back of another, pushing it to the ground to make it crash. It was very interesting to watch and impossible to photograph.

I'd leave it up a little bit longer with some fresh juice just in case a traveler from up north comes through and needs a spot of refreshment on their way down to Mexico.

They have reported seeing one in the Smithsonian gardens as late as December, but that is an oddity.
