Re: [BC] Warp Tier Changes?

said by Delerium3:

I told her I read it on the internet.

I was just playing online for the last few hours, something I have not been able to do on Friday night since moving to Richmond two years ago. Getting Warp seems to have bypassed the congestion problem I had with Extreme in my area, so looks like you were right about that Rustydusty. We'll see how it goes on Sat and Sun night, especially Sunday.

Oh and also my ping has stayed the same, neither increased nor decreased.
This is why I'm not sure why Shaw isn't looking to push Docsis 3 upgrades to where. With docsis 3 they can increase the speeds, but also they can do a lot more channel bonding. Which in the end is easier on their network and will get rid of some congestion. Yes, it will cost them a forture in the beginning, but future wise, it will help them a lot.

Yeah, they should really push docsis 3, it would really be to their advantage. Was just playing online for a half hour, no congestion problems unlike with Extreme.

speedtest @ 8:30 pm Sunday night:

Not as good as Friday and Saturday night, but still pretty good for a night that was bad in the past.

Yeah, those aren't bad speeds at all. Your router might be holding you back now as well. I'd wait and see if the download improves or not. Should see 40Mb/s download at all times.

I'm not using a router, it's a direct connection to the modem.

However I noticed a difference in speedtest results when I use Vancouver compared to Burnaby (Tuesday afternoon @ 2:45 PST):

Burnaby:

I don't know why the tests would vary so much.

Couldn't tell you why it does, but it does. I generally use the servers in WA to test from. Seattle, Bellingham, etc. They seem to give me the most accurate and best results.
