Yes tivo series 3 was discontinued, I know someone who had picked up one of the newer models of the series 3 about a year ago and he had indicated only 1 ccard slot, so maybe he was confused with the series. But all the new tivo's from my understanding from Tivo are all now M-Cards. My suggestion was more to indicate the Mcard will most likely be what the technician has, as Mcards are now the standard.

| The original s3 like I have it does need two cards. They could be the s-cards or m-cards. The later s3 called the hd and hdxl could use 2 singles or 1 m-card. Since the s-cards are not being made Tivo saved some money by just having 1 cable card slot.
