So there is a sort of 'polarity' to it. I can't recall for sure but I seem to think it will work even if flipped, but not every phone can handle it.
Best practice is to use Blue/BlueWhite as your primary line, and Orange/Orangewhite as secondary. Just keep it consistent throughout the house if possible.
Or Green/Red, Black/Yellow if on non-cat5. |
