Logan 5Enjoying the CataclysmPremium,MVM join:2001-05-25 Austin, TX kudos:7 | Best way to record a voicemail left on a cellphone? Hi! I'm looking for some assistance with getting a message off my cellphone and preferably on to my PC so it can be saved.
I have a situation where someone made some statements that others have later denied and I want to be able to 'save' the conversation for later in case it needs to be used in Court.
I don't want to run the risk of it being deleted from voicemail or my service provider having a 'glitch' and losing it so what is the best way to get the message from where it's to my computer.
I'm not made of $$$ so the most inexpensive way I can accomplish this is appreciated.
Thanks to all who reply. |

|
 | reply to Logan 5 Use a speakerphone to play the message, and a microphone attached to the PC to re-record it.

Actually, GV won't work for what I need it to b/c my Carrier (Boost/Sprint) is not on their list of supported carriers.

I plug my phone into my computer's audio system all of the time when I'm at home to get big sound from streaming music or games.
What I want is an android app that will send the audio out over wifi to an app that receives and plays it on the computer. So far I've seen that this can be done with bluetooth but nobody has made software to do it over wifi. |

Also when I just went to play with it Google Voice flat denied my Canadian number. |

If so, then call your phone number with it and punch whatever like # or * when you hear your voice mail message, put in your password, and you should be able to navigate and playback your messages. All you need to do on your computer is record "what you hear" otherwise know as "stereo mix". You should be able to enable this from the windows control panel as the default recording device. You can use a program as simple as windows sound recorder to record the conversation, but I prefer a program like Audacity myself. |

| reply to Logan 5 I am with Sprint so I am not sure if they use the same voicemail system as Boost..but I believe within the menus, you have the ability to forward the message to another number. Could you forward it to your Google Voice number you just set up? Then download it from there? -- Usenet Block Accounts | Unlimited Accounts |

| reply to Logan 5 Just an educated guess. Couldn't you contact your cell phone provider and ask them not to delete that message (assuming that they are deleted after a certain time period), and how to save it until you need it? -- If you need a re-format, just ask and I'll do it. If you don't need one, just give me 5 minutes with your computer, and you will. |
|
thegeekPremium join:2008-02-21 right here kudos:2 | I imagine asking the carrier to not delete the message (if deleting periodically is the standard procedure for the carrier) would take a court order. The carrier doesn't give two shits about you. |
